Virtue Cider & The Best Weekend Ever!

A few weeks ago, my dad sent a text to our family group chat detailing the plans for my mother’s birthday weekend. Instantly, I was devastated that I would be states away from this celebration. My sorrow quickly turned to determination and I began looking for flights Friday-Sunday for a quick weekend of partying alongside my favorite people!

My dad helped me plan the entire thing, and we kept it a secret from my mom. She had absolutely no idea that I was going to be there to celebrate her birthday. My dad, my siblings, and I were all beaming just thinking about her reaction to this surprise. And she did not disappoint; check out her reaction!

After the shock began to wear off, we made our way to Virtue Cider (my mom’s excellent choice) and it was truly the cutest cider mill I have ever been to. My Michigander friends, you have got to check this place out. Much less crowded than other hot spots, they have tasty snacks, photogenic scenery, and adult beverages!!

We all ordered a flight of various hard ciders to try. Though we ordered our own, we shared and tasted each others. We also got a “Michigan Picnic Basket” which was a bunch of tasty snacks to share. After snacking and drinking, we began walking around the farm. There are sheep, pigs, ducks, chickens and other fun farm animals.

It was such a beautiful day; perfect to be outside! I’m so grateful because it’s really difficult to get all of us in one spot, but the entire family managed to be together for this day. The only person missing was Bryan, but he was beyond happy that I got to be there to spend the day with my family. The dreamy weekend is one I wish I could relive over and over. I’m consistently thankful for my big, crazy, loud, and annoying family!

Thank you to my sister and brother-in-law for picking me up from the airport and letting me crash at your place. Thank you to my dad for helping me make this entire thing happen. Thanks to my brother for teasing me and giving me a heart attack thinking you were going to tell mom. Thanks to my littlest sister for being just as surprised as mom (sorry, you can’t keep a secret!) And of course, thank you and happy birthday to my amazing mother, for being awesome and letting us celebrate you. I know it was a great day for you, but really, it was an amazing day for all of us. Thanks for being the best mom ever!
